Posting Student Work Online

One more vote for Wikispaces! Our school has a website through School Center and it is improving and I can post more work there but it's so much easier on Wikispaces. Here's my page.

Game for Learning the Parts of A Computer

I made a bulletin board with the icons this year and my 3rd graders just finished an icon quiz for the 4th/5th graders. Here's where I got my pics: http://www.visualpharm.com/free_icons.html I think…

NECC

My goal for today is to look through my notes, brochures, business cards and handouts from NECC and begin to put all that good information into one place. I've debated how I want to do that; should I post here, on my blog, or make a wiki. I've finally decided on posting it all here. I'm going to post information from each session in a separate forum discussion. I think t… Continue

Elementary Tech Teachers Ning

This is what I posted on my Wordpress blog:
Well, I’ve had 3 people tell me they’d join my Ning for elementary tech teachers if I set one up. So, I decided that was enough motivation to get me started. I was going to put it on my growing summer to do list but changed my mind and started it now. It was very simple since I chose to keep it that way. For now there’s no fancy background or logo jus… Continue

It's very frustrating doing projects with classes I see once a week. With my 6th graders I see them 3 times a week, but every other class I am just finishing up my first project. I usually do 3 projects a year per grade.

Thanks Nedra. Yes, I teach social studies using only (mostly?) technology. So it's really teaching a little bit of both which can sometimes be challenging. Usually I try to limit 1 small tech lesson inside each class. All of my classes are project based and most of the students really enjoy it. It's the one part of the day that they are not doing endless test practice:)

Thanks Nedra! I think I tried this last year - but didn't get too far with it. I will definitely try it out :)

I keep getting friend requests, but it seems like the ning wants me to make a new account. Not sure. It is so fun to see the great ideas on this site!

Nedra, I now teach 6th Grade Reading/LA after teaching third grade for nine years and fourth for thirteen, so believe me, I miss using as many picture books as I used to! But it's still cool to see sixth graders as entranced by a good picture books as students in any of the lower grades.

Thanks for welcoming me and saying nice things about my blog. I'll be giving away a lot of books in December so definitely sends your colleagues to take a look!
