Our K-5th lab: #1 choice is MacKiev's KidPix, made for Mac, integrates with the iLife tools. Open Office works well enough. Kidspiration used by Kdg-3, Inspiration by 4-5. But Kidspiration would work for all. I'd like to have Inspiration's InspireDa…

I've used TTL3 for years with 2nd-5th grade. Works pretty well, kids seem ok with the content. I'm not always happy with the report features, but it does track progress. Seems the best for this grade level.

In an ideal world, tech teachers would not be necessary. Each elementary teacher (and higher) would be able to teach the curriculum with and through tech tools. Every administrator would see that each classroom teacher used the tools available. Labs…

I have K-5th. See k,1,2 and 3,4,5 on alternating schedules; each group gets 3 weeks and each class 5 days in that 3 weeks, then switch groups. KDG gets 45 minutes, all other classes 90 minutes (our schoool operates on block scheduling in afternoon.)…

I'm in about my 14th (or so) year as a tech teacher, and I STILL get lost on what to do/where to begin. It changes, more rapidly than I do. Find one thing that would be helpful to you/your kids that you want to use. Start there. Once that's in place…

I'm not exactly fluent with Audacity, but have used it with kids to record short takes. A couple thoughts: If you haven't used AtomicLearning for the tutorials, check that out. Quite a bit there. I'd have the kids record something very basic, perhap…

Profile Information

About Me:
Now retired after 33 years in the classroom. What I'll do, I'm not sure, but I won't be at school everyday at 7:00 am!
Hoping to do some work with my former school on a contract basis; upkeep of computers, Prof. Dev. with tech, going into classes to help them with 2.0 applications.
How often do you see each of your classes?
KDG, 1, and 2, each class 5 times in a 3 week rotation; every third day. Then switch to 3, 4, and 5 grades for the same thing. Then back to the primaries.
How long do you see each class?
KDG is a 45 minute class. First through fifth are 90 minutes.

Yeah, I am excited about doing the project. I would love to share tech ideas for K-2. Which grades of yours are completing the project?

Nedra,
Thanks for the welcome.
on schedules: I don't like mine very much, but it is workable, I had one similar to yours for one year. Hated that one. The way it is now, I get a bit of continuity for 3 weeks.
