Tabatha, please tell me about your chart. I will be teaching keyboarding next year and looking for ideas.

Cathy, I chart the students that make at least a 90% accuracy on their assesments. The stars are the wpm and if they are not right on a star (19) for example they would be on the tail. I list their name and put in parenthesis their wpm.

Thank you Tabatha....I need to do something to motivate our students and we use the Star as our PBIS mascot so this would be great!

I have a 95% Club and after each assessment, students names (and their %) go up on a star on my wall.  I reward the 95% Club (going on about 60 kids now) with a smoothie party at the end of the year.

Love your board! I would love to have a copy of your chart if you would not mind sharing. Your assessment did you create it or do you use a typing program that includes the assessment? I have about 250 3rd grade students that I would like to use this with.

Thanks for sharing

Sorry I  called you Cathy. I a

love your WPM chart. Would you mind sharing your chart that you have already created? Do you use a specific keyboard program? If so, which one? I am looking for a new one for K-3. I just received new computers and we used "type to learn" which is not supported by my new computers. I can order a newer version, but before I do that I want to see what other teachers are using. Did you create your own assessment or did your program come with it? Thanks for your help.

Hi Theresa,

We use type to learn 4..and it comes with it's own assessments. I created the chart using excel. I found a picture and inserted it and just changed all the cells to 300 and cut and tape and laminate :). I think I might still have it on my school computer, so when I get back I sure can check for you!
