A place for elementary tech teachers to share.
I had the 4th grade find people who they think, Think Different and had them print out photos of that person and they put it up on the adjacent board. A lot of Katie Perry and LMFAO but they got it right!

Love it! Do you have a Mac lab?
Comment by Mark Mitchell on August 31, 2012 at 10:46am We are a complete Mac school, pre-k-12 with a 1-1 ipad test in the middle school. We have a 20 imac lab, with 2 laptop carts and 2 ipad carts all with 20 machines. 240 students in the lower school. Lucky to have the resources! How about your school?
We have PC machines. Although I love my Mac, I don't see my school switching over any time soon. (maybe never) I have 26 stations in my lab and 4 more are being added soon. We will be creating a little "island" with those as I am out of room. I have around 680 5th/6th graders that I see once every four days. My largest class has 31 students in it. That will be a huge challenge for me this year.
Our district has had a huge technology push in the last few years. All core classrooms have Smartboards and projectors. Every teacher in the district received a new laptop at the end of last year. My school has a class set of iPods for each team (3-4 teachers per team). Also we added a class set of netbooks per team. Our 4th grades have 1 computer for every 2 students in their classrooms. The lower grades have iPads (not sure of the ratio). And this year our high school has a 1:1 laptop program. Our district has poured a ton of money into technology. We certainly don't have it all figured out, but we are fortunate to have much more than many of the school districts in our area.
