Typing Trailblazers

We are "Trailblazers" at my school so this is my board of grades 3-6 and their AWPM speeds. Each hand has the name of the top student in each homeroom. This has created friendly competition across the grades!

Comment by Molly Ivory on October 19, 2012 at 11:40am: Jaime and Ashely - We use Mavis Beacon 16. It is a typing software that I use for 3-6 graders. It has lesson areas, speed test, typing games, etc. Debbie - my goals for each grade level are a bit high, but they are: 3rd 25, 4th - 35, 5th-35, 6th-45. I have a few students who have already reached those goals, and others who I know never will. But the only time I tell them those goals are on the first day of class. The remainder of the year we focus on improving whatever AWPM they started at on the first day of school. If they improved from that number, great!
