Typing Trailblazers

We are "Trailblazers" at my school so this is my board of grades 3-6 and their AWPM speeds. Each hand has the name of the top student in each homeroom. This has created friendly competition across the grades!

What do you use to test their AWPM?  I've found a few things online, but so far, I haven't found anything that I just love. :-)

Do you have certain goals for each grade level of wpm?  Do you cover your keyboards with your students?

I would also like to know what you use to test their AWPM.  I have found a couple sites but they are too difficult for 3rd graders.

Jaime and Ashely - We use Mavis Beacon 16. It is a typing software that I use for 3-6 graders. It has lesson areas, speed test, typing games, etc. Debbie - my goals for each grade level are a bit high, but they are: 3rd 25, 4th - 35, 5th-35, 6th-45. I have a few students who have already reached those goals, and others who I know never will. But the only time I tell them those goals are on the first day of class. The remainder of the year we focus on improving whatever AWPM they started at on the first day of school. If they improved from that number, great!
