What is your favorite use or lesson for the MacIntosh?

I'm going to have my 6th graders make a voice recording of a Dr. Seuss book with page turn signals and maybe some background music.  Then I will have the younger grades listen to the recordings while looking at the book.  I started this last year with the 5th graders, but we ran out of time to finish it, so I'm really looking forward to doing it start to finish this year.  The kids worked in partners and took turns reading pages.

Great idea, Becky. I can't wait to try it.

Is anyone using apple tvs in their classrooms?
Comment by Richard Linville on February 8, 2013 at 12:49pm
Yes, with iPads 4 and mirroring we can demonstrate and discuss with groups a new App. You can pass the iPad 4 around to students to try out the new app. We can project educational clips from YouTube using just the apple TV box without needing the iPad. Since we are mirroring the iPad, anything you see or hear on the iPad can be projected to the class. For $99 each, every classroom can afford an Apple TV box. We've done fund raising just for Apple TV boxes.

We also have apple TVs in our classrooms.  I use it to show what is being done on my iPad on the screen.  I have not projected clips from YouTube using the Apple TV.  I always just connect my projector to my computer for that.  I will have to try using the apple TV for that.

We also use Air Server.  WAY cheaper! Works great!

What is Air Server?  I've not heard of that.
