Elementary Tech Teachers

A place for elementary tech teachers to share.

Has anyone tried using "Ribbon Hero" to teach MS Office? It looks really good, but there's no way to reset it so multiple students can use it on the same computer. Just wondered if anyone might have come up with a way around that.

I just figured it out. In case anyone else needs this info, you have to install it from here:

You cannot save the scores, but you can reset them for the next user. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

What grade levels are you planning to use this with?  Just curious, it looks great!  Thanks!

I found it over the summer and want to try it but haven't yet as we just started back Tues a week ago with kids. We have individual log in's so it wouldn't be an issue with having to reset for me though.

I was looking at this program and I was thinking that it looks like a really good, fun teaching tool.  Have any of you installed it on the student computers?  I was reading the "Terms of Service" and was trying to determine if using it in a whole class setting vs. as a single user was OK.

I haven't had time to install it yet. Just glancing at the Terms I didn't notice anything really saying you couldn't do it either way. I will show as a whole class how it works and then send them off individually to work on it if I ever get around to it.

I am going to be using it with 5th and 6th graders. I haven't installed it on my stations yet though. Hopefully I'll get that done soon. Anyone who has useful tips for this program, please share.

Let' revive this conversation as I think Ribbon Hero 2 has a lot of potential!

Any other teacher's using ribbon hero yet?  I think it could be perfect for 5th 6th graders.  Maybe 4th as well.

I haven't tried it yet in the class but hope to in the next couple weeks.  Any Tips or Tricks?
